Our Profile

The Institute of Machine Elements and System Development researches the fundamental structural and tribological behavior of machine elements and depicts this in experimentally validated model descriptions.

These model descriptions are used to analyze and design the functional, loss and noise behavior of entire technical systems with a focus on the drive technology of wind turbines and mobile machinery.

The results are computational and constructive designs of specific technical solutions, including verification of the required system properties on large-scale test benches.

Numerous experiences with such model-based solutions through to the design of configurable products enable MSE to research and develop methods of model-based systems engineering as a central element of future industrial product development processes.

Your Profile

You have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in IT or a comparable degree.

  • Experience in a comparable position desirable
  • Experience in the administration and optimization of IT systems
  • Experience in the analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems
  • Experience in the administration of Linux and Windows-based infrastructure
  • Experience in the administration and operation of software distribution (e.g. open PC Server Integration)
  • Experience in dealing with virtualization solutions (e.g. VMware ESXi, Proxmox VE)
  • Experience with the administration of networks
  • Experience in script programming (e.g. bash, PowerShell)
  • Experience in dealing with and advising users
  • Knowledge of server and desktop hardware
  • Willingness to manage employees and promote their training and further education
  • Ability to work in a team and the willingness and ability to work independently and on your own responsibility

You have a good command of written and spoken German, a good command of English is an advantage.

You have a high level of commitment and good communication skills.

Your Tasks

  • Disciplinary management of a small IT team.

  • Ensuring the operation, maintenance and monitoring of the institute's IT infrastructure
  • Guiding the team in the administration and configuration of Linux and Windows server and client systems
  • Further development of the IT systems
  • Procurement and provision of IT solutions
  • Optimization of processes in the context of IT services (provision, support, helpdesk, etc)
  • Ensuring the documentation and support of the services provided by the team
  • Networking and communication with other areas of the institute, the IT Center and other university institutions and companies

What We Offer

The recruitment takes place in an employment relationship.

The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and is limited to two years.

The fixed term is based on § 14 para.

1 of the Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment Act (TzBfG).

This is a full-time position.

The classification is based on the TV-L.

The position is graded up to EG 11, depending on personal requirements.
